Slowly but surely....it's begun.

Hello out there in bloggy land. As some of you know I have been gearing up for the past several months getting my photography business started(there's MUCH more too it than most people think). I have finished the last of my photography courses and have been shadowing another local portrait photographer. That has been the most help of all. It's not all just "point and click" and you come out with the beautiful portraits you see online and in peoples homes. There is so much to learn in order to produce a great product. Thankfully my family have been good sports about being used as "test models"!

I am strictly shooting as an on location photographer, no studio work. I prefer to shoot outdoors to obtain the most natural light possible. Natural light makes for the most flattering portraits. I can come to the location of your choice......your home, a nearby park or any place that has special meaning to you and your family. I also have a few spots of my own that can be used such as an old church, horse barn or railroad tracks. I am always on the hunt for new locations. That is my goal for the spring so I can offer Live Easter Bunny sessions.

As I continue building my website, I will be offering "Portfolio Building" specials. It will consist of no sitting fees and half off all prints and CD collections. This offer will be available to the first 5 bookings I receive. Keep a look out for emails about this special very soon. There is still time for Christmas Card photos to be done. Contact me @ portraitsbyjulie@yahoo.com if you are interested in having some taken. Cutoff for these will be December 13th. Due to the unpredictable shipping during to holidays, these images will be delivered to you on a CD so you can print your cards at home or however you choose. If you still prefer custom greeting cards I can have them shipped overnight for an additional cost.

In the next few days, I will be posting some of my previous work so you can get an idea of my shooting style. I hope to add your family's faces to my portfolio in the near future!
